THE ORU CHAIR AND THE KEDUA BENCH GET THE GERMAN DESIGN AWARD SPECIAL MENTION.

15th DECEMBER, 2022

The fact that the design of our products is becoming increasingly popular in Germany has been officially confirmed by the German Design Council with the German Design Award – and with a double award! The Oru chair and the Kedua bench have received a Special Mention in the category “Excellent Product Design – Furniture”.

The Kedua seating family designed by Santiago Sevillano received the award for its refined style. This elegant bench reminiscent of classic modernism is available in four sizes from 140cm to 200cm wide, with or without backrest. Many upholstery combinations are possible, as the seat can be upholstered with different fabrics on the front and back. The backrest is made of injected polyurethane foam and guarantees a high level of seating comfort. The metal feet are available in 30 colours.

And for the Oru chair, the origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, has provided the decisive impulse for the design. Designed by Mobliberica’s in-house department, its linear forms are reminiscent of paper that has been carefully folded into an ergonomically shaped seat with a comfortable backrest thanks to the injected foam. The stylized triangular geometry of the legs gives the design a timeless and harmonious shape. For the seat upholstery, we offer a choice of over 250 fabrics, including collections in velvet, synthetic, leather and other materials.

The German Design Award  has been awarded annually since 2012 by the German Design Council and is considered one of the most renowned international design awards. Entries are judged by an international jury of experts from all design disciplines. Their criteria are highly valuable: those who convince this jury with their own product have demonstrated a high level of competence in design innovation and a strong focus on the demands of their own customers and the market.
